Overlay Roof Quick Tip
Hey friends, Paul Holub here with another Holub Team Quick Tip.
I have some friends who are purchasing an older house closer to downtown Houston. From the inspection report, we’ve learned that the house has an overlay roof, actually four roofs. That’s troublesome because an overlay roof is where they put a roof on top of another roof and you can imagine four roofs sitting on top of the attic structure you really have an impact on the structure, the foundation and everything in between.
Biggest problem though, getting a house insured with an overlay roof is nearly impossible. So, getting the roof taken of prior to closing, getting taken care of by the seller is the number one thing to do. So, if you’re looking to purchase an older house that has an overlay roof make sure you get it taken off prior to closing.
Well that’s all for a Holub Team Quick Tip, all the best.
